Agriculture Minister (কৃষিমন্ত্রী) Dr Abdur Razzak said the
government would take tougher(টাফার—কঠিনতম)
actions(পদক্ষেপ)
if any irregularity(অনিয়ম)
and corruption(দুর্নীতি) is found(ফাউন্ড—Find- এর
past and pp—অর্থ-পাওয়া ) in the distribution of government’s
stimulus packages for the agricultural sector(খাত).
“The
government is giving more importance(অধিক গুরুত্ব)
on continuing(বজায় রাখতে) the present trend (বর্তমান ধারাবাহিকতা) of producing agro items(কৃষিপণ্য উৎপাদনে) during the Coronavirus situation and to
increase(ইনক্রিজ—বৃদ্ধি
করা) production(উৎপাদন) in future,” he said.
The
minister was addressing(বক্তব্য দেওয়া)
a special meeting (বিশেষ সভা)
on
Coronavirus situation organized by (আয়োজিত হয়েছে)
the
district administration(জেলা প্রশাসন)
at the meeting room(সভা কক্ষ)
of deputy (উপ) commissioner.
Razzak
said Aush,jute and sesame(সেসামি--- তিল) seeds(বীজ), fertilizer(ফার্টিলাইজার—সার) and other materials have already been
distributed at free of cost(বিনামূল্যে) to the farmers across
the country(দেশজুড়ে).
Besides(তাছাড়া), government supports(সাহায্য/ সহায়তা) are being given to the farmers for cultivating(চাষাবাদ) summer session vegetables(গ্রীষ্ম মৌসুমি সবজি), he added.
The
agriculture minister said the government has already declared(ডিক্লেয়ার- ঘোষণা দেওয়া) Taka 5,000 crore(কোটি) stimulus package (প্রণোদনা প্যাকেজ) with four percent
interest rate along with giving subsidy(ভর্তুকি) of Taka 9,000 crore
to agri-sector. Besides, the government has decided to give loan with four percent
interest rate instead of (পরিবর্তে) 9 percent against the loan of Taka 14,500 crore due to(কারণে) Coronavirus pandemic(বিশ্ব মহামারী), he added.
Razzak
warned that tough(টাফ—কঠিন) actions would be
taken if any irregularity and corruption is found in distribution of the
government stimulus packages.
Relying
to (উত্তরে)
a query (প্রশ্ন) about the effect(প্রভাব) of current(চলমান) epidemic(মহামারী), the agriculture minister said
there is a bumper production (প্রচুর উৎপাদন)
of
Boro rice(বরো ধান).
He
hoped that there will be no food shortage(সংকট/ অভাব) in next 7 to 8 months
if the farmers can harvest (ফসল কাটা) their corps(ফসল) in due time(সঠিক সময়ে).
